Wildlife Art

Wildlife Art by Various Canadian Artists

Wildlife has been a source of inspiration for many artists since the beginning of humanity. Right from cave drawing of mammoths, artists have been using wildlife in their art.

Animals, birds, amphibians, even fish are used in art in many different ways. From art about rural life and growth, to myths and legends. Art helps us explore our relationship to wildlife and make us more aware about how we care for animals and the environment.

Wildlife & Spiritual Meanings

The spiritual meaning of animals and birds, just like a totem, are of elevation, enlightenment, hope, and wisdom. Power animals follow this meaning and provides us with unique gifts in the form of unique and independent perspectives and personalities. Similarily, animals in art have been used to depict our treatment of people.

Certainly, there are many different cultural symbolisms of wildlife from Ancient Egyptian, Celtic, Greek Mythology, Mayan and Native American.

We all have a favorite animal, one we either resonate with or just like. When we were younger, it was probably a dog or a cat or a bunny. As we get older it changes, as we change and grow.

Here is a list of Spirit Animals and their meanings.  See which one you feel fits your personality.
