This Watercolor painting was mainly done in plein air after I got a photo of the butterfly which I added later. Wild roses abound in N.B. most of the summer . They grow especially well along the Fundy shores and add to the beauty of the seaside. They also give off a beautiful aroma and keep the bees and butterflies happy. Don’t tangle with them though as their thorns are wicked! The sky was given texture with wrinkled saran wrap. The butterfly is embellished with pitt marker.
