Magnolia Leaves Grunge

$20.00$240.00

In winter, magnolia leaves are like a golden skeleton of the original leaves.
I found a few of the best leaves and took them to my studio.
I shot them against a neutral grey background.
I then used Photoshop to take the background out.
I have a few different background I have used and I added the grunge one.
It looks like someone walked on it and it has a metal look to it.

There are 2 more from the same shoot.

Description

Magnolia Leaves Grunge photographed by Kelly Cushing

We have a beautiful Magnolia tree in our yard that produces yellow flowers twice a year. In winter, the leaves fall and are like a golden skeleton of the original leaves. They are striking.

I chose a few of the best leaves and took them to my studio. Then, I shot them against a neutral grey background using studio lights. I then took the photograph to the computer where I used Adobe Photoshop.

First, I took the neutral gray background out of the photograph. Secondly, I have a few different backgrounds in a file that I use. I chose this metal looking one. It looks like someone walked on it, scuffed it metal up. I like the used look to the background. I like the contrast between nature and man-made in the photograph. Finally, I burned in the edges all around the outside of the photograph. I stopped before I over edited the photograph.

Magnolia Leaves Grunge is one of 3 different photographs from the photo shoot of these leaves.
