“Lady Luck”, 10 in x 20 in on stretched canvas, acrylic, oil, varnished, frame not included, wraparound finish.
When this collection’s foliage came to life, so did the gorgeous creatures that would inhabit it, the ladybugs. Did you know that historically, English farmers believed that ladybugs were a sign of a good harvest? When a ladybug landed on the hand of a young Swedish woman, people believed it was measuring for wedding gloves! That even here in Canada, it was believed that a ladybug hibernating in your garage was a sign of good luck! I sure like the sound of that one and hope it will bring you the good fortune our ancestors saw in Lady Luck!
