Great Day for Fish
Acrylic on Canvas measuring 16 inches x 20 inches
I often spend time walking around the Niagara Region looking for inspiration for my paintings. On this autumn day, it was rainy and overcast however, the grey day made the colors of the trees more captivating. As I walk down the steep stairs to the bottom of the escarpment, I arrived in an opening where people were fishing. This one elderly man was separate from the others and seemed to be having more luck catching fish. His experience made for his success. The muted green reflection on the river and the distance side of the escarpment create a sense of depth to the painting.
