Have you ever looked at a geode, from the Greek word Geoides, meaning “Earthlike”? Geodes can form in a variety of ways such as in volcanic rocks, mud deposits, tree roots. They may even start out as animal burrows! I always loved their colors and most of all, their beautiful, unique, well defined rings! To pay homage to the geode’s starting days, I decided to add a few hand painted flowers to embellish its mysterious hollow center.
