Neocolor II 10.5 inches x 7 inches. Warm, tropical feel of coconuts on the beach.
Coconuts for sale! A market display of fresh coconuts and each is full of cool, sweet water. All one needs is a hole for a straw to make the perfect accompaniment to your beach chair. The picture brings to mind a warm, tropical shoreline. Certainly a wonderful thought in winter weather.
Coloured pencil painting has only recently gained popularity. It’s beauty lies in its ability to provide fine details not easily obtained with other media. Therefore, giving it’s own unique uses.
Neocolors are ridiculously saturated wax crayons that can be used for drawing patterns, embellishing collage elements, adding depth to mixed media art journal pages, edging, and mark-making.
There are only a handful of materials that would be considered ESSENTIAL for mixed media art journalists. And Neocolors fall into that category. Neocolor II, to be precise. But more on that in a bit. Art journalists around the globe use these sticks to smudge, smear, embellish, edge, doodle, and add graffiti-like marks to their creative work.
While I worked for 21 years, and again, the art waited. It was when I became ill with chronic migraine headaches that I felt the need to try to bring beauty from pain. I also suffer from PTSD and severe allergies. Painting is a way to channel pain and my mission is to create happy, colourful pictures as a gift to uplift others.
Currently, I am making a studio/gallery and have a business for my art called, Gail’s Art Spa. I have a special interest in meeting other artists who struggle with low energy issues and who are isolated due to illness and/or anxiety.
