Blue Poplars

Poplar trees are native to Canada and form densely populated forests. With their beautiful white bark and unique markings they make attractive compositions. In my many travels throughout British Columbia and Canada, I am always on the lookout for unique groupings of trees. The original scene already had a nice balance of light, texture, colour, and shapes. Further enhancing it by using artistic impression to change the yellow fall leaves to blue, and to abstract it further with digital paint brushes, added a home and office decor feel to the image. Hand painted gold accents are randomly painted over top of the printed piece to simulate falling leaves. This adds 3 dimensional highlights when viewed from different angle and lighting conditions.

Canvas prints are UV coated with 1 1/2″ thick frame and gallery image wrap. Hanger included. Size 24″ x 48″

GST and PST are included. Shipping costs vary depending on location.

Photography for me doesn’t always have to be about the literal expression of reality. As an art form, photography can combine many different elements of digital abstraction. Firstly, by layering in elements from separate images. Secondly, blending in subtle or even dramatic digital aspects of traditional art mediums. Finally, it allows me the freedom to experiment with the original scene in ways that are only limited by my imagination. Having a custom printing lab in my studio with a large format printer allows me to further experiment with unique papers and creative printing techniques.
As an Accredited Photographer with the Professional Photographers of Canada, I live, eat, breath photography, and Photoshop mastery. My work as a Commercial Photographer also lets me specialize in Architecture, Interiors, Industrial, and Products photography. This allows me access to unique locations where I can photograph landscapes and nature scenes not normally available.

Although all of images are color compatible for viewing online, most computer monitors vary in their color configurations and the images that you see may not have accurate color representation.
