Collette Pereira Bio
I have lived in Chilliwack for almost 30 years and spent much of it in a craft business with my late partner, Brian Tyson, who was a wood turner.
Together, we made a living filling gallery orders and travelling across Canada doing Art & Craft shows.
I am a self-taught artist who uses abstract impressionism to depict nature’s grand explosion in all the colours of the rainbow. I paint instinctively and try to express nature in as much joy as I can.
Even though I love the world of art as a whole, drawing and painting in vivid color are my passion.
I always knew I was an artist but the chance to actually make a living as a painter came many years later after I had raised a family, and got a job as a silk painter for a wearable art designer.
It was an exciting time for me to be actually getting paid to have so much fun. I couldn’t wait to get back to work after the week-ends.
Every painting for me is a journey in which I get to learn something new and exciting. Hopefully, I am able share my joys to make the world a happier place.
I have continued to follow my passion for painting, doing Exhibitions and Craft Fairs and getting to know the people who enjoy and collect my paintings.
