Christine Bernard
BIOGRAPHY
Hi I’m Christyn and I am a self-taught artist originally from La Belle Province.
Throughout the years, I used different types of artistic mediums to express my creativity. When my kids were young, I sewed fashion collections for children as well as home décor pieces. Then in 1992, everything changed as I fell in love with oil painting.
The following decades were filled with art shows, exhibits in local art galleries and custom pieces. I even owned my own artist supply store where I would teach oil painting. I was always known for my realism style depicting with precision Quebec’s rural landscapes and portraits of loved ones.
Then in 2019, I discovered pouring. Over the past few months, I poured my heart out in search for my own unique pouring identity, which I found in early 2020 by mixing my love for acrylic and oil! The abstract/modern look of the pouring techniques and the realism of the oil characters that inspire me define my collections today.
Now that I am retired, I spend a fair amount of time between beautiful British Columbia and Quebec. I find my inspiration in people, nature, travel and history.
