From photorealism to abstract, nature can be represented in varied way. Art can mimic, by seeking to visually replicate objects as they actually appear. On the other hand, abstract paintings take their visual cue from actual forms in the habitat but alter that form. 

What is the importance of nature in art?

Throughout time, artists have used the Earth and the environment as a muse or motivation for creating diverse of forms of art. The Earth provides endless forms of inspiration. Therefore, it can be a critical theme in many forms of artwork.

Henry Matisse said, “An artist must possess nature.”

Most importantly, anyone who has stopped to admire the rushing river, the colours of the sunset know that nature and art go hand in hand.

Certainly, it enhances our respect and our relationship with the natural world. It brings people together around an environmental cause.
