Landscape art, the depiction of natural scenery in art. This type of subject matter may capture mountains, valleys, bodies of water, fields, forests, and coasts. Cityscape art is the depiction of man-made structures. Cityscapes may be images of cities, buildings, bridges and may or may not include people. 

From photorealism to abstract, landscapes can be represented in varied way. Art can mimic nature, by seeking to visually replicate objects as they actually appear. On the other hand, abstract paintings take their visual cue from actual landscapes but alter that form.
